How does the per-VPS pricing work?
Plans are billed per VPS you connect — Basic is $5/month per VPS and Pro is $10/month per VPS with AI agent access and faster support. Every plan includes unlimited projects per VPS, with no seat fees and no per-deploy charges.
Do you host my applications?
No. Alkimist orchestrates deployments to servers you own — DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Vultr, Linode, or anything reachable over SSH. You pay your provider directly for the VPS itself, so there is zero vendor lock-in.
Can I add or remove VPS at any time?
Yes. Connect or remove servers whenever you like — your subscription simply adjusts to the number of VPS you run.
What happens to my apps if I cancel?
They keep running. Everything is deployed on your own infrastructure with standard tooling, so your apps are unaffected. You only lose the orchestration dashboard, the AI assistant, and automated deploys.
Which frameworks are supported?
Alkimist auto-detects major Ruby, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, Java, Go, Rust, Elixir, Dart, and .NET frameworks—including Rails, Sinatra, Django, Flask, FastAPI, Next.js, Nuxt, React, Vue, Angular, SvelteKit, Astro, Express, NestJS, Laravel, Symfony, Spring Boot, Phoenix, Serverpod, and Dart Frog. Other stacks fall back to the universal Nixpacks builder.
Which databases are supported?
Every framework can use managed or external PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, and SQLite, plus Redis or Valkey for caching. Alkimist injects standard connection URLs and framework-neutral environment variables automatically.
